Race-1:  ISINIT Vs RICH N RARE

RICH N RARE-(Not in Odds) Upset
ISINIT – (2-1/2)  Nest best
GOOD CHANCE if former FAULTS/
HEADLINES (2-1/2) LAY

ISINIT (tightened for room at the start), HEADLINES (got check at the start), DECCAN KING (Jumped outwards and met interference at start), MILWALKEE (Jumped outwards and met check approaching 150 mtrs), RICH N RARE (had to be checked approaching 850 mtrs). What is special about these horses is that all these horses GOT CHECK in their previous outings, and finished less than 1 seconds behind the eventual Winners, hence I consider all of them are contenders. My choice is RICH N RARE as it has the best draw.  First time going over 1200m race, that tempt me to back an UNCERTAIN first race.

Race-2:   RAEES  Vs. FROSTY

RAEES – (2-1/2) WIN
Completed hat-trick of wins, twice over 2400m, last race in Class-II by 5-1/2 lengths, may continue the winning streak.
FROSTY – (3-1/2) SECOND BEST
Ran in two OAKS, may extend the best now in this handicap race against RAEES.
PALATIAL (2/1) – LAY
I don’t know why all prefer this 6year old PALATIAL?  cannot take Vulcan’s win as a Key to this race, because I feel the Vulcan’s race was fixed because the bookies made Geranium favourite.
SADIQ (3-1/2) – LAY
No chance in this company.

Race-3:  UNCLE SCROOGE Vs. GLORIOUS EYES

UNCLE SCROOGE (5/1) Upset
Biding his time, can upset. Looks better than owner mate Nelsons Blood.

GLORIOUS EYES-Second Best.
Ignore last run, can do better.

ELEGANT BEAUTY (16/10) LAY
Last run was not convincing, now less 400 mtrs, still it may lose again.

Race-4:   KING OF KILLEN Vs VIKING

SPIRIDON- (16/10) LAY
I suspect the credentials of Imran Khan on Mahalaxmi Track. Give one more skip. Not a good race for wagering. Still I find the race could be in between King of Killen and Viking.

Race-5: KRAMER (12/10) – WIN
Kramer will surely carry the penalty and register another thumping victory.  Unsure the chances of Debutants in this race.

Race-6:  BRABOURNE (18/10) LAY
ANGEL GIRL (2-1/2) –WIN

ANGEL GIRL is thousand times better than BRABOURNE that only I can say. ZANZIBAAR, Silk Baby are dark ones.

Race-7:   No suggestions

Race-8:  AIRLIFT (16/10) LAY
This race smells upset.  Airlift has a widish draw, and you never know the outcome such open races.

Why BTC Declares Race Card 2-3 days before the race?

So the coming weekends are reserved for BTC Summer meetings, and the 1 st and 2 nd day of Racing will be held on 13 th and 14 th May and all racing enthusiasts eagerly waiting for this will be happy to know this year Owners, Trainers, Syces, Jockeys or the Nature are not  testing your patience.  A prompt start is a certainty this year. Normally races are held in India Next Day after declarations are out.   However, the BTC has this week decided to declare the jockeys on 11 th May  for the Week End races to be held on 13 th and 14 th May, i.e.  two to three days earlier.  Contrary to the usual practice, what prompted them to do this hasty declaration is not known.  For handicapping students it may be a welcome move as they will get sufficient time to study the card. But I doubt despite having more than enough time, if any one will be able to spot the winner accurately in most of the races. Two Good Bets today 1-1 Afrikaner-WIN/SHP NIGHT ODDS: 18/10, MORNING ODDS: 18/10 3-6 Olympia Fields-WIN/SHP NIGHT ODDS: 18/10, NIGHT ODDS: 12/10 Both the above horses are the best in their respective field, should win.
